I earned my B.A. in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and my Masters of Education (EdM) in Risk and Prevention, and Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling (CAS) from Harvard University.
I have taught undergraduate and graduate level psychology courses, published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at state, national and international conferences, and served as an ad hoc reviewer for peer-reviewed psychology journals.
My therapeutic approach utilizes techniques from cognitive and behavioral therapies, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and supportive counseling techniques. I am a nationally certified therapist in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and provide other evidence-supported treatments including Prolonged Exposure for PTSD (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Behavioral Activation for depression, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Traumatic Grief Therapy, Risk Reduction through Family Therapy (RRFT). and treatment for Complicated Grief.
I have extensive experience working with individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds, and provide therapy in English or Spanish.
