Your privacy is incredibly important to me. Sensitive topics are frequently discussed in therapy, and I am legally and ethically required to protect your confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996. This means that I will not discuss with others what you share in therapy without your express consent. At intake, I will provide a written notice of privacy practices, discuss confidentiality and its limits, and answer any questions that you might have. If you would like for me to communicate with anyone else regarding your care, you will need to sign a release of information form which I will provide.

I am happy to answer any additional questions that you might have related to confidentiality.
