I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) treating children (ages 3+), teens, and adults. I specialize in the treatment of exposure to trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues.
I earned my B.A. in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and my Masters of Education (Ed.M.) in Risk and Prevention, and Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling (C.A.S.) from Harvard University.
I have taught undergraduate and graduate level psychology courses, published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at state, national and international conferences, and am an ad hoc reviewer for peer-reviewed psychology journals.
My therapeutic approach utilizes cognitive-behavioral and supportive counseling techniques. I am a nationally certified therapist in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for youth and families, and provide other evidence-supported treatments including Prolonged Exposure for PTSD (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Behavioral Activation for depression, Traumatic Grief Therapy, and treatment for Complicated Grief.
I have extensive experience working with individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds, and provide therapy in English or Spanish.
